GTA 6 launches later this year but at this rate the entire game will be leaked before we see it officially released.
You can’t exactly blame the fans for wanting to know more about the game, especially since Rockstar Games is notoriously tight-lipped when it comes to its upcoming titles. Recently though, Rockstar Games made the mistake of confirming (via IGN) some of the leaks we’ve seen so far are real, and now everyone’s trying to figure out exactly which ones.
Rockstar Games’ employees have been protesting the company’s alleged union-busting activities and following enough support the UK Parliament has gotten involved. During the proceedings Rockstar admitted that in 2025 the developer had to let one of its employees go, as they leaked confidential information which ended up doing the rounds on social media.
This basically confirmed that some of the Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks we saw last year were 100% genuine, but obviously Rockstar didn’t specifically highlight which ones.

Leave it to the fans to put on their detective caps though eh? The community has combed through everything that was leaked last year and believes to have an accurate list of what is and isn’t real, based on what this ex-Rockstar employee shared online.

You can find the full list on X from profiles like GTA 6 Countdown and TheGameVerse but we’ll run through some of the big stuff below.
One of the biggest reveals is the game will be made up of five chapters, which doesn’t sound like a lot but keep in mind Red Dead Redemption 2 had six chapters and took hours and hours to finish. That’s if you ignored the side-content too.

In terms of gameplay the leak that stood out to me was swapping between playable characters.
The character wheel will return from Grand Theft Auto V but this time the option will be Jason, Lucia, or Dual-Control which gives you access to both.

I don’t know why but this reminds me of Sonic The Hedgehog 2 when you can select both Sonic and Tails as the characters you’ll be playing as, rather than one or the other.

The leaks even had a bit about the next iteration of GTA: Online, which is all but confirmed to be coming to the game at some point or other.
Apparently there was an early idea to give our characters voices but this was scrapped, so we’ll once again be playing with silent protagonists for Online missions.
There’s plenty more where that came from so I’d suggest checking out the full lists.
That said you should still take this with a pinch of salt, as some of this might have changed during development.
