If all goes to plan, Grand Theft Auto VI will finally be ours in just over eight months time.
It’s with that in mind that you should expect to see Rockstar Games ramp up marketing efforts in the coming months.
Already, there’s movement over on the PlayStation Network.
It was spotted in recent days that title IDs for the game had been added to the console’s system database which, yes, you’d typically see prior to a pre-order going live.

This sort of thing doesn’t necessarily happen singular days before the opening of pre-orders, but it does signify that we should hear something on that front in the next two months. Perhaps less.
Let’s not forget that Take-Two Interactive’s next earnings call, the parent company of Rockstar Games, is scheduled for early May - in two months time.
In the meantime, it looks as if GTA VI cannot stay out of the headlines as gameplay may have leaked online.
The Brief Gameplay Clip Appears To Show Vice City’s Open-World
As reported by ComicBook, the footage first appeared on the Instagram account Vice City Alligator.
The caveat here is that the gameplay is reportedly of a four-year-old development build so you should expect what you see to look a little rough around the edges.
Vice City Alligator claimed to have received the footage from a friend that previously worked at Rockstar Games.
In the clip, which is captured on a desktop PC, cars can be seen driving across a bridge somewhere in the game’s open world.
It goes without saying that I have to urge you to take this leak with a pinch of salt.
As I’m sure you’re aware, it’s very difficult in these instances to say whether something is real.

Given recent staff controversies at Rockstar Games, it doesn’t feel out of the question that someone might leak a snippet of footage in retaliation.
Then again, this could be totally fake and made exclusively for online clout.
The rather ordinary clip is of the right feel though; I could easily see this being a part of GTA VI’s Vice City.
Even if this clip is real, its brevity has perhaps underwhelmed the vast majority of gamers who are itching to see GTA VI’s high octane gunplay and vehicular combat.
“Nice bridge dawg. What am I supposed to do with this?” one fan wrote.
“Bike lanes confirmed,” added another.
“This colouring, these volumetric clouds seem very real,” said one more user.
As I said, we’re in for an exciting few months as GTA VI’s real marketing campaign gets underway, and we’ll be sure to bring you updates every step of the way on the approach to November.
