Cyberpunk 2077 plans to welcome gamers back to Night City later this year, while new DLC elsewhere aims to invite new players to its chrome-clad world for the first time.
Later in 2026, Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2 will drop on Netflix and Crunchyroll. While is it part of the Edgerunners series, it’ll have no connection to the events of the first season and introduce fans to a new cast of characters.
It’s a pretty big deal, and our recent first-look at the second season went down well with viewers who applauded Studio Triggers' 1:1 remake of some of Cyberpunk 2077’s locations.
However, while we’re months away from falling in love with a new cast of colourful characters, a new DLC teaser is bringing back the old guard.
With The Witcher III: Wild Hunt getting its first new DLC expansion in 10 years, many were right to hope that Cyberpunk 2077 would be getting the same treatment.

While it’s very much a possibility, a new crossover DLC for the Titanfall successor APEX Legends is real, and happening.
The official APEX Legends X account posted a picture of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners protagonist David, recreating the iconic shot from the anime where he’s staring at the Earth from the Moon. The caption read: “Some views are worth sharing.”
Cyberpunk 2077’s account responded with its own post of Lucy, saying; “Some legends are worth sharing.”

Both David and Lucy will return as skins for the APEX Legends characters Sparrow and Ada respectively.
The new collaboration is just one of many that fans have been enjoying recently. Wuthering Waves has been by far the most successful and endearing collab, but Lucy’s addition to the Guilty Gear -Strive- character roster was also good fun.
At the time of writing, a release date for the APEX Legends collab hasn’t been announced, but fans are already gearing up to return to the first-person shooter.
“Ain’t no way you guys are about to pull me back into Apex Legends with a Cyberpunk collab,” said ScuffedAndroid with a crying emoji.
Most reactions have been positive. There have, however, been a few objections to which characters these skins have been attributed to. Why Sparrow and Ada were chosen hasn’t been explained, but there’s likely a good reason behind it.
The combination of new collaborations, the second season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners quickly approaching, and the excitement around The Witcher III: Songs of the Past expansion should be all the reason CD Projekt RED needs to greenlight another Cyberpunk 2077 DLC.
Having just one major expansion for the game is criminal considering how long gamers were waiting for it to launch, and how equally disappointed they were when it launched in the state it did.
Perhaps once The Witcher IV has been released, the studio will turn its attention back to Cyberpunk 2077. A new DLC would help tide fans over while they wait for Cyberpunk 2.
