Cyberpunk 2077 is making yet another comeback later this year, and dare we say Night City has never looked better.
At the time of writing, CD Projekt Red is hard at work on the next Witcher game. A closer look at The Witcher IV is hopefully coming later this year, but before then, Cyberpunk 2077 is getting another time to shine.
A sequel to the game is still years away, but a sequel to the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime is right around the corner. Fans have been pouring through the latest trailer and were stunned to see some of the 1:1 recreations of Night City you’ll catch in the full series.
The first trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 was brief, but packed with detail.
We got a look at the new cast who’ll be blazing their own trail through Night City completely unrelated to the first season’s band of mercenaries. If you want to see more of David Martinez and Lucy though we’d implore you to check out Wuthering Waves…

New characters include Weak Kingsley, D, Roman Carax and Talia Yang, and fans are already betting on which one is going to bite the dust first. Our money is on Roman, unfortunately, as their character description states they’re “obsessed with documenting the truth,” which is basically a death sentence in Night City.
As fans dissect the trailer, though, some have compiled comparison images between what locations we’ll see in the show, and which part of Night City they’re based on.
Quirky_Detective3918 shared a carousel of images on Reddit and the attention to detail is staggering. We don’t know what they’re feeding the folks at Studio Trigger, but the artists’ skills are otherworldly.
The Night City you’ll see in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is essentially a 1:1 remake of the one you’ll explore in the game, down to the last crosswalk or window.
“I love that locations are a perfect 1:1 between both,” said pentaTheWhale in response to the post.
“Someone did this for the locations in season one and it's really cool to be that DiCaprio pointing meme whenever you recognise a place,” added mitchwacky.
Finally, UnknownBaron said: “I had given up on gaming as nothing was holding my attention. I especially hate grind free roam games. Watched the show recently and got the game last week. It makes me enter flow state unlike many other things in my life . What an experience.”
We’ve only seen a tiny glimpse of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 and it’s already shaping up to be another great comeback for the franchise.
While all 10 episodes will drop on Netflix and Crunchyroll later this year, those attending AnimeExpo will be able to watch the first episode early as a special treat.
In the meantime, you might as well load up Cyberpunk 2077 for another playthrough. You’ve got a long wait ahead for Cyberpunk 2.
