It's amazing to see the resurgence that Cyberpunk 2077 has had, with CD Projekt Red's ambitious sci-fi slugger finally able to deliver on its promises years after it faced more than a few hurdles at launch. With the 2.0 update and Phantom Liberty DLC, CDPR gave players the game they thought they were going to get all the way back in April 2020. Of course, things didn't go to plan, with the COVID-19 pandemic scuppering things, and numerous delays leading to a disappointing release where the game was accused of being pushed out before being ready.
Jump forward to 2026, and Cyberpunk 2077 has been put to bed as we eagerly wait for the mysterious Project Orion.
With no sign of the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, we'll have to make do with the various Cyberpunk-inspired outings currently on the market.
If you hadn't told us that NO LAW was a brand-new game with a completely different developer and publisher, you can see why some people might think they're watching a first trailer for Project Orion. Even though NO LAW doesn't have the likeness of Keanu Reeves to add some A-list star power, there's plenty to enjoy.
A suitably glossy trailer is apparently captured with in-game footage, making us think of anything other than the disappointing graphics that many faced during Cyberpunk 2077's somewhat botched release.

Including scantily clad women in Blade Runner-esque outfits, there are malicious mob bosses, neon-drenched nightclubs, high-tech labs, and more. As the name suggests, and similar to Cyberpunk 2077, NO LAW goes with the idea that crime DOES pay.
Wannabe gamers reportedly got to see more at 2026's State of Unreal, getting up close and personal with this open-world RPG that takes place in the futuristic Port Desire. Here, you can fight and sneak around the city to reshape it in your own vision or fly below the radar. We're especially intrigued by the inclusion of a shadowy organisation known as the Division of Now and Hereafter. Chuck in some mechs that look like they've been pulled directly from RoboCop, and we could be onto a winner

We'll temper our expectations that the surprise confirmation of a DLC for The Witcher 3 could lead to another Cyberpunk 2077 DLC, but if not, NO LAW should be able to tide us over. Even though there's no release date for when we'll have it in our hands, there are plenty of other juicy details. As well as reports of no invisible walls or loading screens, there will be a dynamic weather system alongside a day and night cycle, while there is literally 'no law' in the game.
In terms of who we see taking a beating in the trailer, this is Grey Harker, a battlefield and Port Desire veteran. He turns his back on his military life and looks for a peaceful retirement, but before getting there, he has one last job to pull off.
Remembering that Neon Giant gave us The Ascent, there's plenty to look forward to when it comes to NO LAW’s upcoming release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Let's just hope it has a smoother launch than Cyberpunk 2077. Well, when we eventually get a release date.
