We may finally have a rough idea of when the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 is finally going to be released, thanks to a very in-depth report by financial analytical firm Noble Securities.
CD Projekt RED is quite possibly the busiest they have ever been at the moment, because they’re currently involved in the production of four separate video games.
There’s the obvious one, of course, The Witcher 4, which is predicted to come out at some point in 2027. They’re also working on a multiplayer Witcher title, codenamed Project Sirius, that is being developed by CD Projekt RED’s newly acquired studio, The Molasses Flood.
Then you’ve got the mysterious Project Hadar, which will reportedly be an entirely new IP, with some insiders claiming that it will be a sci-fi-focused title.

And, finally but certainly not least, CD Projekt RED is also in the early stages of working on a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, which has tentatively been dubbed Cyberpunk 2.
Considering how busy they are, you’d probably assume that we won’t be getting our hands on the next Cyberpunk game until 2030 at the earliest… and, according to a new report from Noble Securities, you’d be correct.
There's a Long Wait Ahead
As originally spotted by Polish financial site Strefa Inwestorów, analysts at Noble Securities seem to think they know exactly when Cyberpunk 2 is going to drop, and their logic does make a lot of sense.

“The desire to integrate multiplayer into production prompted us to extend production time beyond the progress of work on the benchmark W4. As a result, the budget has increased to PLN 1.5 billion, and we expect the release in Q4 2030 (the 10th anniversary of CP77),” states Noble Securities’ report (machine translated from Polish).
Personally, I think that 2030 actually sounds slightly too early, because I have a feeling that CD Projekt RED is being stretched to its limit at the moment.
However, Noble Securities’ report does line up with the latest development update from CD Projekt, which revealed that the number of developers assigned to Cyberpunk 2 has risen from 149 on July 31 to 162 on October 31.
Likewise, the number of developers working on The Witcher 4 has only risen by 3, from 444 on July 31 to 447 on October 31.
This doesn’t paint a clear picture of any sort of release window, but it does tell us that CD Projekt RED is slowly working towards focusing on Cyberpunk 2’s development as, seemingly, very few extra hands are now required to help The Witcher 4 reach its finish line.
I just hope the devs have plans to book a nice, relaxing holiday in the near future, because it sounds like they are flat out over there at the moment.
