Elder Scrolls fans have just released a brand new expansion for Tamriel Rebuilt, adding a huge area of land to explore along with a load of fresh quests.
Tamriel Rebuilt: Poison Song is an add-on which aims to add the mainland of Morrowind to the massive community mod, with plenty of new locations to discover.
As any seasoned Elder Scrolls veteran knows, the original release of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind—which Tamriel Rebuilt is based on—actually took place on the island of Vvardenfell which is off the coast of the Morrowind mainland.
While the mainland region did technically appear in the form of one city in Morrowind’s Tribunal expansion, it has yet to be available as a fully explorable region in a singleplayer title just yet.

That’s where Tamriel Rebuilt comes in, which is a massive expansion aiming to provide Morrowind players with the entirety of the province to explore at their leisure.
The Poison Song update adds the Othrenis area to the game, featuring several new locations and plenty of NPCs and quests to complete. This includes the surrounding areas as well, such as the Orethan Fields and the chapel of Nanaav.
The Tamriel Rebuilt devs have also remade the Sundered Scar region, which is now a “desolate sulphuric wasteland filled with high-level enemies.” This also includes a full visual revamp of many locations in the Aanthirin region, as well as a major technical and stylistic pass of all its quests.

The mod also adds a new joinable Great House faction, Indoril. The questlines featured here are equal in length to the ones that appear in the vanilla Great Houses, along with plenty of NPCs to interact with.
The house also includes new architecture, clothing, and armour based on Indoril’s unique appearance, as seen in the chapels of Nanaav, Gorne, Roa Dyr, and Tur Julan.
There’s also another new faction you can join in the form of the Ordinators, which includes three questlines for each of the orders.
Meanwhile, new quests have been added for the Tribunal Temple and Morag Tong, as well as many miscellaneous ones you’ll find out on your adventures. In total, you’re now getting over a thousand quests across the entirety of Tamriel Rebuilt.
This also includes an expansion and revamp of most of the questlines in Old Ebonheart, which was added way back in 2018 and has seen numerous touch-ups over the years.
As of now, this means that the only region of Morrowind that hasn't been added to Tamriel Rebuilt yet is the western side of the map which borders Skyrim and Cyrodiil.
Tamriel Rebuilt was originally launched in 2006 as a project to bring the entirety of the Morrowind mainland region to the game, as was Bethesda’s original plans for the game before reducing the scope to including only the Vvardenfell part of the land.
Since then, the expansion has gone through many updates and changes over the years to include new areas, quests, and NPCs, as well as revamping a lot of locations that were added previously.
The mod is intended to act as a lore-friendly addition to the game which players can access at any time. In recent years, the speed of updates has become much faster compared to the early days, with a new major update coming out at a rate of around one per year since 2018.
