Cyberpunk 2077 is getting a sequel and while it’s not properly in development yet it’s more than likely details on its plot and gameplay mechanics are being decided internally at CD Projekt Red.
At the moment the majority of CD Projekt Red’s staff and resources are being spent on The Witcher IV, but once the next Witcher game is with us it’ll be a countdown to the next Cyberpunk game, which at the moment is being referred to as Cyberpunk 2.
Whether the game follows V after one of its many endings is unknown but adding a little bit of hope to that possibility is the legendary Keanu Reeves, who recently spoke in an interview with IGN about his role of Johnny Silverhand.
Speaking about his upcoming film Good Fortune, Reeves was asked if he fancies returning to play Johnny again in a sequel.

“Absolutely. I’d love to play Johnny Silverhand again," was his response.
Obviously this doesn’t confirm he’ll be in Cyberpunk 2, though given the fame of Johnny Silverhand in-game he’ll no doubt be referenced in some capacity.
For all we know though the next Cyberpunk game is all about Johnny and what led up to his vendetta against Arasaka. We got a taste of that through some of the gameplay missions in Cyberpunk 2077, so a full-game wouldn’t be out of the question.
Idris Elba who played Solomon Reed in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty has also expressed interest in returning to the world CD Projekt Red built, and while it’s unlikely I’d love to see Solomon and Johnny interact in some way.

While Cyberpunk 2077 unfortunately failed to impress fans with its troubled launch it was Keanu Reeves’ involvement that really carried both the game’s sales and the narrative, so hopefully we see him return in the sequel should CD Projekt Red allow it.
