Cyberpunk 2077 gamers have slammed CD Projekt Red for a new teaser, but it sounds like you all might have just jumped to conclusions.
Earlier this summer, CD Projekt Red launched a massive 2.3 update for Cyberpunk 2077 which brought in a huge number of changes and improvements.
The update also came with an announcement that more updates are in the works, along with a brand new sequel titled Cyberpunk 2.
Now, a new teaser posted on X (formerly Twitter) has got fans excited, though probably not for the right reasons.

On 1st September, the official Cyberpunk 2077 X account posted an in-universe message from President Rosalind Myers teasing something for 4th September.
“Our great nation is once again facing a mounting cybersecurity threat - from those who hide in the shadows, too cowardly to publicly proclaim their beliefs, who are viciously determined to tear down our flag and the values it upholds,” the message states.
“I will not accept this, and I know you won’t either. The N.U.S.A. is seeking brave netrunners to join our efforts and overcome this grave threat. Our brave agents work tirelessly to keep our country secure, maintain its dominance, and defend it from those so eager to undermine it.
“Now you can join us in our fight for freedom. I personally welcome all who believe they have what it takes. Take our recruitment test. Prove yourself. Serve the N.U.S.A.”

However, it was later revealed to not be a teaser for anything more than an anniversary celebration for the Phantom Liberty expansion, as a follow-up post was made by CD Projekt Red.
“Just FYI, this isn’t any sort of announcement or reveal about new content coming to the game — it’s part of an activity tied to the Phantom Liberty anniversary we’re celebrating this month.”
Naturally, gamers are upset about this. Because of course they are.
“Don’t get our hopes up anymore… we’d like a lot more content, and if you don’t intend to give it to us, at least don’t get our hopes up,” reads one comment in the replies.

“This gets fans excited and hopeful for something fresh and new, I feel like the community managers don’t know what the hell they're doing,” another wrote.
I can’t help but feel this is entirely the fault of the gamers for getting their hopes up. CD Projekt Red released a pretty chunky update only a few months ago, and has teased more content is coming in the future. And bear in mind this is for a game that will soon be hitting five years old later this year. It seems a bit silly to get upset over this.
