Cyberpunk 2077's massive new update officially detailed by CDPR

Following its previous delay, fans have finally received news on the next big patch arriving for Cyberpunk 2077 as CD Projekt RED gear up for an exciting showcase.

Despite claiming that it had wrapped up development on Cyberpunk 2077 back in 2024, CD Projekt RED has continuously surprised fans by releasing regular patches and updates thanks to its work with Virtuos.

Following the success of Update 2.2 back in December, Cyberpunk 2077 is gearing up for Patch 2.3 and despite initially being hit with a delay earlier this year, it seems as though things are back on track.

This news comes courtesy of CD Projekt RED itself who took to social media just yesterday to reveal that a brand-new REDstream is on the way and the livestream will tell fans everything they need to know about the upcoming 2.3 Update.

“We’re driving into Patch 2.3 of Cyberpunk 2077 to check what’s under the hood of the newest update,” the official Tweet reads.

“Our passengers will be @PaweSasko, Associate Game Director of Cyberpunk 2, and Adrien Jouannet, Lead Designer at Virtuos.”

The livestream will take place later today at 5pm CEST and can be viewed on both Twitch and Youtube.

So, what can we expect?

Well, judging by all of the vehicular puns, we can assume that Cyberpunk 2077 2.3 will feature brand-new cars or at least upgrades to the vehicles already in the game.

Update 2.2 came with new ways to customise cars and so we can perhaps see Virtuos build on from this.

Other rumours have suggested another update to the in-game Photo Mode which will definitely be appreciated considering that Night City is widely regarded as one of the best video game locations of all time.

Other than that, it remains to be seen what CDPR and Virtuos has been cooking up behind the scenes but what we do know is that this will be just another excuse to return to Night City in Cyberpunk 2077.
