A major leak has revealed that Cyberpunk 2077’s upcoming Update 2.5 could be receiving significantly more content than previously announced, including new story missions, console mods, and several long-requested gameplay features.
CD Projekt Red recently confirmed that Update 2.5 would launch on 22 Oct., bringing fresh content to its open-world RPG alongside the arrival of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 anime — the Netflix sequel to the hit original Edgerunners series from 2022.
Whilst the developer had already teased cyberware customisation and a new dual-wielding combat system, a leaked breakdown suggests that the free expansion-sized update has plenty more in store.
The information reportedly comes from YouTuber WesNemo, who accidentally published an early-access video detailing the update ahead of its official reveal. Although the video has since been made private, Push Square claims to have watched it before its removal, revealing numerous additions coming to Night City.
Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 reportedly adds console mods and new quests
Perhaps the biggest new revelation about Update 2.5 is that Cyberpunk 2077 will finally support community-created mods on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

According to the leak, mod.io integration will allow console players to browse and install compatible modifications directly through the game's menus, potentially opening up entirely new ways to experience Night City.
However, not every PC mod will be supported, whilst installing mods will reportedly disable PlayStation Trophies on affected save files. Beyond modding, though, two additional story missions are apparently included, as well.
The first, ‘Clampdown’, serves as a prequel to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, which The Game Post has found rewards players with a five-piece outfit inspired by Edgerunners 2 anime character Weak Kingsley upon completion.

Meanwhile, ‘Welcome to Paradise’ reportedly features a mysterious tour of Night City narrated by its deceased founder, Richard Night.
An expansion to the “Fool on the Hill” quest is also apparently mentioned, introducing 12 additional Minor Arcana tarot cards scattered throughout the city.
The previously confirmed dual-wielding feature will apparently be unlocked through a new Double Trouble perk within the Cool skill tree, allowing players to simultaneously wield two Power pistols or revolvers.
Cyberware customisation is receiving a significant overhaul too, with five new Glamdoc establishments reportedly offering different appearances for Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, and other equipment.
Other additions mentioned in the leak include new hairstyles, clothing collections, additional Photo Mode options and a radio station featuring music from both seasons of Edgerunners.
Console players could also receive a long-awaited field-of-view slider, alongside improved save file organisation, inventory filters, and various technical fixes.
Although these details have yet to be officially confirmed, CD Projekt Red is scheduled to reveal the full contents of Update 2.5 during its REDstreams presentation on the Cyberpunk 2077 YouTube channel today, 21 Oct., at 5pm CEST (4pm BST), ahead of the free update's release the following day.
