Pax Dei Gets Content Update After Free Weekend
First of all, I wanted to bring you an update on Pax Dei, a PC open-world described as a “vast, social sandbox MMO inspired by the legends of the medieval era”. In fact, it’s a little like if Skyrim was blended together with Kingdom Come Deliverance. We spoke about the free weekend last Friday, but if you played it and felt that it needed a bit of refinement, you’re in luck!
The next content update is coming in a few weeks - it’ll refine how existing features feel, look, and connect, to make everyday play smoother, more readable, and more expressive.
That means two things caught my eye - crafting with better progression, and crafting to feel more rewarding and better balanced. You can read the full patch notes here!
Alternative to 'Historically Accurate' RPG That Called LGBTQ+ a “Modern Agenda”
Earlier this week, we reported on Knights Path, yet another Kingdom Come Deliverance… Homage that tweeted out the below:
Yeah. If that’s left a sour taste in your mouth, we’ve got great news. We’re big fans of 1348 Ex Voto - a cinematic action-adventure game that actually takes inspiration from Kingdom Come Deliverance in all the right ways.
The Steam description reads: “Journey through a tumultuous Medieval Italy as Aeta, a young knight errant who sets off on a brutal quest to find and save her closest one.” Best of all, it comes out soon - 12 Mar, 2026 on Steam. 10,000 wishlists and one funny reply later, it’s safe to say we’re all in.
Demakes are the Trend That Need To Make a Come Back, Here’s Why
Earlier this week, I rediscovered this awesome fan project - a trailer that recreated GTA 6 in that classic polygon style of the PS1. Check it out here!
Something I found out earlier last week while researching - did you know there were actually two versions of PS1s? That’s why some PS1 consoles had ‘worse’ graphics. Here’s a talented modder that’s working hard to bring back the earlier style to your favourite games.
Listen, I grew up with the PS1 as my first console. I remember THAT Metal Gear scene with Psycho Mantis, so I’ve got a particular fondness for that era of graphics. Forget 8k Zelda remakes - I want to see The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom remade with the beautiful pixels of the Game Boy Advance era.
Stop Killing Games Petition - Where Does it Go From Here?
Here’s an important update you might’ve missed! Stop Killing Games passed a very important milestone earlier this week.
“Stop Killing Games" is a consumer movement started to challenge the legality of publishers destroying video games they have sold to customers,” the movement’s website reads.
“An increasing number of video games are sold effectively as goods - with no stated expiration date - but designed to be completely unplayable as soon as support from the publisher ends.”
“This practice is a form of planned obsolescence and is not only detrimental to customers, but makes preservation effectively impossible.”
I have to say, I agree, and over 1.3 million of you do, too. You can sign it here.
But where does it go from here? After it hit 1 million verified signatures, it will now move to a formal handover to EU institutions in February 2026. The campaign is also pursuing renewed, separate petitions in the UK Parliament. If it goes forward, it could mean greater protection from games being removed without warning from your library.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons Promotional Crossover Teased By IKEA
Earlier this week, IKEA posted a very interesting teaser to their socials that seemed to hint at a crossover between the Swedish furniture company, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, just after the 3.0 update dropped, and I had some thoughts about what the future of Animal Crossing could look like in a post-COVID world. Funnily enough, just that weekend I’d been to IKEA to pick up a new cabinet to prepare for all the Pokemon LEGO sets I’ll no doubt spend my whole life savings on. But could it happen? It’s not the first time IKEA have teased something Animal Crossing-y before - five years ago, IKEA Taiwan recreated its print catalogue in-game. Just give me a Blahaj to go along with my froggy chair!
