I think we’ve officially hit the bottom of the barrel when it comes to Elder Scrolls discourse, as one fan has asked a question I can’t help but feel has never been asked before: are ghosts wet?
In the context of The Elder Scrolls, we’re talking about ghosts which appear as NPCs or enemies across the various games in the series.
If you ask me, if you were to touch a ghost I don’t think you’d necessarily feel anything. Yes, this has been the topic of debate in the GAMINGbible chat today.
These undead fellas are disembodied spirits of the dead, and can’t usually be touched. At least in the traditional sense.

I feel like if you were to reach out and touch a ghost, it’d feel along the same lines of waving your hand through steam or smoke. You wouldn’t feel anything tangible, though you may feel a cold or hot sensation on your hand.
One fan on the Elder Scrolls Reddit page has posited this question to the community, asking whether ghosts would feel wet if you were to touch them.
“You can attack them and punch them no problem,” the post reads. “So in theory you could do other stuff too right, like with consent of course, but like they have ectoplasm and that’s kinda wet looking.”
The Wetness Of Ghosts Is A Serious Matter That We All Need To Discuss
I’m a little worried what’s going through the original poster’s mind right now to have conjured up that thought. But I have a policy that “there are no stupid questions”, so I have to indulge the question.

As expected, users in the comments section are roasting OP for this thought.
“I hope you are in Cyrodiil, wince the punishment for necrophilia there is nothing compared to Morrowind,” reads one comment from a user.
“I choose to believe you are just talking about splashing them with water,” reads another comment.
“I’m the skeleton buried in the hay bale and I would like to reach this mead bottle to drink and forget what I’ve read right now,” reads a third comment.

I’m hoping for everyone’s sake that the debate ends here, and OP doesn’t take things to any further extremes. Obviously, it might be tricky to test that theory out in real life, but hopefully Bethesda sees this thread and makes sure to address it in The Elder Scrolls VI.
One thing can be certain, we need a new game as soon as possible, Todd. Please, for everyone's sake.
