The Elder Scrolls fans can now download five new quests for Skyrim, and that’s just what we need while we wait for the next game in the series.
Todd Howard may have said that The Elder Scrolls VI is “still a long way off”, but at least we have loads of new free content for Skyrim coming out in the form of mods.
Skyrim modders really are the unsung heroes of this franchise, creating loads of free content for the game like new quests, locations, characters, and weapons.
Echoes of a Silver Chain is the latest in this long line of new quests you can download, introducing five new ones to the Special Edition of the game.

The mod, as the author puts, gives “a voice to the men and women behind the shields” by adding five unique character-driven quests following the personal histories of five guards across Skyrim and Solstheim.
“In Skyrim, guards are often treated as part of the scenery. They tell us about the weather, complain about their knees, and stand stoic against the frost. They are the silent witnesses of the province, seen but never truly known,” reads the official description of the mod.

Skyrim: Echoes Of A Silver Chain Features New Dialogue, NPCs, Locations, And Items
This includes over 400 new dialogue lines, allowing guards to have authentic local banter, deep historical insights, and raw commentary on the current events in Skyrim.
The five different quests are located in Rorikstead, Nightgate Inn in The Pale, Ivarstead, Dragon Bridge, and Raven Rock in Solstheim, giving you a chance to explore the world and find them gradually rather than exhausting all the content in one go.
And from what we can tell, they’re each pretty much standalone but are woven directly into the history of Skyrim, which should be a good fit for any lore aficionados.
The mod also adds four new locations; Huldrak’s Watch, an abandoned Nordic ruin west of Windhelm, Vesper's Grotto, a forgotten Imperial ruin south of Dragon Bridge, Arkngrad, a lost Dwemer ruin hidden within the shadows of Blackreach, and Windcut Nook, a small hunter’s cave located north of Dragon Bridge.
So, altogether there's quite a lot of stuff here to sink your teeth into.
If you’re interested in checking out Echoes of a Silver Chain now for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, you can do so by downloading it from Nexus Mods.
