Starfield fans can grab a free download ahead of launch

Starfield fans out there who haven't yet pre-ordered the game might just be in luck: a new giveaway is offering multiple winners access to a free copy of the game.

With only weeks to go until launch, many of us are only just now looking for the best Starfield bundles. Those that have a copy secured, meanwhile, have taken to looking over every bit of footage of the game in an attempt to piece together the map, skill tree, and pretty much everything else.

NexusMods has announced a new competition in partnership with Republic Of Gamers to celebrate the imminent arrival of Starfield, offering a select few winners access to a range of sexy PC hardware bundles. Better still, every prize comes with a free copy of the game.

"This ROG gear will truly redshift your Starfield launch sequence to near-lightspeed," a blog post reads. "Picture yourself unwrapping a pristine, top-end GPU, the whiff of short-chain polymers heavy with the promise of performance. Imagine peeling away the stickers, only for them to tear, leaving the glue behind, which is almost impossible to remove. This could be yours."

"In addition to the giveaway, if you purchase an eligible bundle from their site, they will give you a copy of Starfield for FREE. This opportunity, like Halley's Comet, is eccentric and visible to the naked eye at night."

Starfield will be available 1 September for those who got hold of Early Access, and 6 September for everyone else. There is, however, a way to play it even earlier than that if you're so inclined.
