The Elder Scrolls VI continues to test us.
Bethesda’s long-awaited follow-up to 2011’s Skyrim has just surpassed an incredibly grim milestone; it’s been seven years since the game was first announced.
Yes, it was on 10 June in 2018 that Bethesda first dropped The Elder Scrolls VI’s brief reveal trailer at their E3 press conference.

It didn’t give much away but that didn’t bother us at that point in time.
No one could have predicted that we’d all be sitting here in 2025 none the wiser as to what The Elder Scrolls VI will entail.
It’s a damn good job that Skyrim continues to entertain us and, of course, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered recently landed too.
In fact, Oblivion Remastered even brought ‘Skyrim Grandma’ out of streaming retirement.

It’s a different kettle of fish to Skyrim when it comes to mechanics, but it’s a title that’s well worth playing if you haven’t already.
It’s the only way you can catch a glimpse of Skyrim remastered in Unreal Engine 5.
Allow me to explain.
Skyrim was created in The Creation Engine while Oblivion Remastered utilises Unreal Engine 5 to overhaul the original title’s graphics.

As pointed out by Reddit user WiseOldChicken, you can view Skyrim’s The Throat of the World within Oblivion Remastered offering you a small - and yes, admittedly, it is very small - glimpse of an iconic Skyrim location remastered within UE5.
“For those who haven't played Oblivion Remastered, they fixed the Throat of the World so that it is clearly visible from Frostcrag Spire,” they wrote.

Seeing this certainly left me with a smile on my face.
It left me wondering what the rest of Skyrim might look like with these upgraded graphics.
Honestly, it wouldn’t phase me one bit if The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Remastered dropped before The Elder Scrolls VI.
That latter title seems to be in no hurry. However, when an update does finally arrive, we’ll be certain to bring it to you.
