Developer Raw Fury has confirmed that their upcoming first-person sci-fi survival horror ROUTINE is set for a full release on 4 December 2025.
The game puts the player in the unenviable environs of an abandoned lunar base themed around a version of the future that has the design and aesthetic of the real world 1980s.
In the developer's own words, "Curious exploration turns into a need for survival when a lunar base goes completely quiet. Searching for answers puts you face to face with an enemy who is certain the main threat is you. Discoveries lead to deeper unknowns and the only way to go is forward."
So it's set to be a lesson in the horrors of being alone in space, with the game heavily leaning on its atmospheric environments to generate most of the tension and scares.
Don't Expect High-Intensity Mechanics from ROUTINE

Much of your time in ROUTINE will be spent exploring the base, with everything from crumbling shopping malls used by the families who previously called the area home, all the way up to living quarters and engineering sectors.
Along the way, you'll be analysing each new area you go to in an attempt to uncover what happened before your arrival. You'll also have access to a device known as the Cosmonaut Assistance Tool [C.A.T.], which you'll use to access terminals, navigate the environment and find additional clues, in a very similar utility to the Pip-Boy given to players in the Fallout series.
The developer has paid particular attention to taking advantage of all available technology in this release, with Diagetic audio, minimal UI and something they are referring to as full body awareness, all of which should ramp up the scares considerably for those of you who react to audio.
Though it isn't entirely clear how it will work at this juncture, the game doesn't appear to have too much in the way of combat. Much of the time you will instead have to rely on your instincts to avoid trouble, so you'll be better off running away or hiding if you run into one of the game's threats.

That said, it does seem as though the C.A.T. can be used in some capacity as a last resort, if you do get caught out.
The game is still several weeks away, so make sure to give the trailer a watch if you want to see the vibe they're going for, and add it to your Steam wishlist if you like the vibe.
