Xbox Drops 2 AAA Free Games, No Game Pass Required To Play

You only have the weekend to get involved

Yet another edition of Xbox’s Free Play Days has arrived.

This time around, the line-up consists of four AAA bangers - two of which you don’t need an Xbox Game Pass subscription for.

To bring you up to speed, Free Play Days takes place every weekend on Xbox, granting users limited-time access to a number of games for free.

Oftentimes, you need a Game Pass subscription to access the games featured in the event which somewhat defeats the purpose if you ask me, but that’s not always the case.

This week’s edition is a great example as, like I said, two of the offerings can be enjoyed by all.

Those are Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and FBC Firebreak, both of which landed last year.

Access to Black Ops 7 is available from now until Monday 9 March at 10am PT / 6pm GMT, while FBC Firebreak will remain playable until the end of Sunday 8 March.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is, of course, the latest entry in the long-running FPS franchise, so it hardly needs an introduction.

It didn’t exactly impress upon release. In fact, it did quite the opposite, but if that put you off purchasing this entry, perhaps now is the perfect time to try it for free.

FBC Firebreak is a co-op FPS set within Remedy’s Control universe. This also fared rather averagely with critics, landing a score of 64 on MetaCritic.

Game Pass Subscribers Gain Access to Two Additional Free Games

If you do have a Game Pass subscription to any tier, you can also enjoy Black Desert Online and Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds until the end of the weekend.

Black Desert Online is the popular MMORPG from Pearl Abyss, perfect to get a feel for what the developer is capable of ahead of the upcoming release of Crimson Desert.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is, as I’m sure you’re aware, a 2025 racing entry featuring everybody’s favourite blue hedgehog.

It’s a tad tougher to get to grips with I’d say that something like Mario Kart World, but it’s very fun with some great character crossovers.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and FBC Firebreak are also running limited-time discounts to coincide with Free Play Days.

You’ll need to purchase the full release if you want to keep playing after Free Play Days ends.

FBC Firebreak can be bought for $31.99 instead of $39.99, while Black Ops 7 will currently set you back $55.99 instead of $69.99. Pricing varies by region.

All in all, I’d say this is one of the strongest Free Play Days line-ups we’ve seen in a while so if you’re looking for something to enjoy this weekend, perhaps something here is it.
