For the horror fanatics out there, a new game that blends Resident Evil and P.T. has been announced for Steam.

Although it’s nearly a decade old, P.T. has made its mark on the horror genre. Considering it came from the minds of Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro, the short playable teaser became a staple of horror gaming.

Just a few years later, Resident Evil 7 took the first-person concept and stretched it further into an absolutely terrifying survival horror.

The original Silent Hills P.T. teaser trailer, featuring Norman Reedus as the main character.

Now, a new game coming to Steam later this year looks to blend P.T.’s photorealistic graphics with Resident Evil’s puzzle and shooting mechanics.

Fractured Mind from ACid is a bodycam-style psychological horror game where you explore an underground metro station, gradually finding more disturbing things as you continue on.

ACid hasn’t revealed too much about the game so far, with a big chunk of the Steam store page featuring cryptic clues regarding the characters and plot.

It has been said the game will be half an hour of gameplay when it launches, though, with updates to the story taking the full length to around an hour.

Since the game is launching in early access, the full story won’t be available immediately.

As for what will be available when the Early Access period begins, ACid writes: “This version has a full playable chapter that is pretty much complete. Since it is Early Access, this may or may not be the final version of this specific chapter. It showcases some of the mechanics of the game along with an important part of the story, and features two endings.”

Fractured Mind will also be free during the Early Access period, but will be a paid title after ACid has finished developing the remaining chapters.

The developer has not stated what the full game will be priced at yet, nor for how long the game will be Early Access for.

Fractured Mind is due to release on Steam Early Access some time in Q2 2025. A demo is already available to play on Steam to keep you going until the full release.
