Horror game fans will want to check out the new free demo for Minacious, which feels especially appealing to Resident Evil fans.
Minacious features intimate, first-person horror gameplay in the same style as Outlast, while also including retro-inspired visuals similar to the classic Resident Evil games.
If you take a look at one image from Minacious, you’ll spot pixelated graphics and intimate close-quarters levels which complement this Resident Evil inspiration, and it’s something you can try now in the free demo.
The free demo for Minacious on Steam offers a “short but intense” introduction to the game, featuring a playable section from the opening chapter.

It features the first enemy from the game, as well as the first weapon you’ll earn, offering a small but sizeable chunk of the story to experience.
Altogether, it should be one that fans of the original Resident Evil games will enjoy, especially considering the pixelly environments and analog-style audio, which makes it perfect to play through on a lazy Saturday like this.

As developer BreadHeadST states, the demo will allow you to “experience the core mechanics, atmosphere, and challenges as you explore a hostile environment, solve puzzles, manage limited resources, and keep your wits about you against unpredictable threats.”
If you fancy checking out the game for yourself, you can download the demo for Minacious now from Steam.
Be sure that the game runs well on your PC by checking the system requirements, but considering the retro appeal, it's very likely you'll be fine.
The blurb on Minacious reads: “Minacious is a first person PS1 style horror survival game where you play as Veronica who wakes in the basement of an eerie mansion with no memory of how she got there, she must traverse the dark and bloody halls uncover secrets and the truth behind the manor's fall.”
If you’d like to keep up to date on the game’s development, you can also check out the full game’s store page on Steam, which should provide you with new dev updates, videos, and a release date when it’s available.
