If Entropy isn’t already on your radar, it absolutely should be - especially if you’re a fan of classic Elder Scrolls or the PlayStation 2 era.
Dread Delusion developer Lovely Hellplace has launched its latest RPG, Entropy, and it’s proven to be an instant hit with a 98% approval rating from Steam users, correct at the time of writing.
Entropy is actually a turn-based RPG that looks as if it was lifted straight out of the 00s, and that’s a huge compliment.
Its low-res textures are taking us straight back to our childhoods; combine that with the fact that Entropy is simply just a solid, well-made game, and we’ve got a winner.

“In this dying age, only pockets of humanity remain. There was no apocalyptic event to speak of; only the cruel march of time and the inexplicable infertility of the world,” begins the synopsis.
“Accursed creatures stalk the barren lands between settlements, which are themselves terrible places; squalid, medieval, and mostly ruled by tyrants.
“Our story begins in the town of Draenog, where the theatre performance you are putting on is interrupted by fighting at the gates.
“Demons have arrived. Your wooden sword will have to do for now, gather the troupe and defend yourselves!”

Set within a post-apocalyptic world, players will be able to traverse a huge map, engaging in turn-based battles as they attempt to stop a demonic incursion.
It’s a party-based setup, similar to Baldur’s Gate 3, so you’ll be able to control up to six characters, with mercenaries available for hire should any of your team members fall.
Of course, outside of battle, there are treasures to unearth, challenges to overcome, and NPCs to encounter - and as with any good RPG, Entropy features a comprehensive upgrade system with players able to level up, unlock new perks, and more.

Entropy is “crazy atmospheric” and “very cool”, fans say
Entropy is very much in its infancy, having just launched in early access on PC storefront Steam where only its first act is currently available.
Even still, that hasn’t stopped players from leaving heaps of praise, signalling a bright future for this awesome title.

“This game really reminds me of RPGs from the PS2 era,” one player began. “The combat is fairly deep, for example being able to cut off limbs is great. [...] The game is crazy atmospheric, talking to people and learning about the world is a must. Music is great and really adds to the old school RPG feeling.”
Another added, “Very good game for an early access title! I enjoyed Dread Delusion greatly and it's comforting to see the same style of game with some seeming allusions to the studio's previous entry. Artyom Trakhanov's art as always goes amazing, and everything from the designs to models I thought were very cool.”
The cherry on top of the cake is that Entropy won’t cost you a fortune. It retails for just £8.99 / $11.99, but you can secure 15% off as a special introductory offer until August 25.
