Nintendo Switch 2 new console bundle announced as price hike looms

Nintendo has announced a new Nintendo Switch 2 console bundle, but the news comes as players in the UK face another Nintendo Switch 2 price increase.

From September 1, 2026, Nintendo will raise the Nintendo Switch 2 price for the second time, with the base console increasing from £395.99 to £419.99 in the UK. The price increase has already taken effect in the United States, where the Nintendo Switch 2 has risen from $449.99 to $499.99.

In the UK, the Nintendo Switch 2 price will increase by 6.1%, while US players have already faced a significantly larger 11% price increase. The move brings the standard US Nintendo Switch 2 price to $499.99, putting it in line with the new pricing for Nintendo Switch 2 bundles.

Nintendo announces new Switch 2 bundle as console prices set to rise

The Nintendo Switch 2 console bundle in question includes the upcoming Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, the latest entry in the series that began with Wii Sports in 2006. The new game expands on the party-focused formula with more party games, alongside the improved visuals and gameplay you'd expect from a modern Nintendo console.

However, with the latest Nintendo Switch 2 price increase just days away in the UK, the ‘Nintendo Switch 2 + Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle’ will cost more than the bundles currently available at the time of writing.

The ‘Nintendo Switch 2 + Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle’ includes a digital download code for the game, a pair of Joy-Con 2 controllers and all the essential cables and accessories required to get started. The bundle also comes with a 90-day Nintendo Switch Online subscription to the basic membership tier.

How much does the Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle cost?

The ‘Nintendo Switch 2 + Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle’ has an RRP of £449.99/$499.99, making it more expensive than some of Nintendo's existing Switch 2 bundles in the UK.

For comparison, the ‘Nintendo Switch 2 + Pokémon Pokopia bundle’ currently has an RRP of £429.99 in the UK. In the US, the same bundle is already priced at $499.99, following the Nintendo Switch 2 price increase taking effect there earlier.

The ‘Nintendo Switch 2 + Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle’ will launch alongside the game on October 22, 2026, giving players the option to pick up the new Nintendo Switch 2 bundle on day one.

Why have Nintendo Switch 2 consoles gone up?

The larger price increase in the US comes amid President Donald Trump’s tariffs on imported goods, which could be a contributing factor to the higher Nintendo Switch 2 price for American consumers.

Nintendo is also facing wider pressures across the hardware industry, with GPU and RAM shortages driving up costs and also impacting companies such as PlayStation and Xbox.

Will Nintendo Switch Sports Resort enjoy the same level of success as previous games in the series and become a genuine Nintendo Switch 2 console seller? Only time will tell.
