If you’re a fan of Resident Evil and Silent Hill, then you’ll want to check out this “terrifying” new horror that’s coming to Steam.
Fans of the survival horror genre love nothing more than to be playing a promising new title at night, with the lights off, curtains closed and wearing a headset in the hope of being scared witless.
However, with so many new horror games releasing every week, some promising titles can often fly under the proverbial radar. That being said, judging by its gameplay trailer and community response so far, the indie game,Where Dolls Hang could be a release worthy of your attention.
“Hey, everyone! Hope you are well. I just wanted to share, as I announced my newest game, which I have been working on for the past couple of months, and it's currently my biggest one yet, called Where Dolls Hang,” said the developer Steelkrill on Reddit.
“It's one of my first games, heavily inspired by Resident Evil, Silent Hill and also inspired by a real-life location. Players will investigate by marking clues, handling bodies, and surviving on a boat while navigating wetlands and forests filled with hanging dolls. Along the way, you’ll craft weapons and build your own shelter to stay alive. It will be a blend of survival and psychological horror.”
Judging by the gameplay trailer on Steam, Where Dolls Hang looks like it has the potential to be a good game, and it also gives me The Vanishing of Ethan Carter vibes, a fantastic indie thriller released in 2014.
“Looks terrifying, I love it!” said thecozmik.

“It looks genuinely terrifying, I like the doll monster designs,” agreed Sparrowsabre7.
“It looks like Outlast and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard had a baby, looks good!” replied ArthurCohle.
“Looks good. But if it has a giant demon baby, I’m not touching it with a 10-foot pole,” declared Ryman604.
“Looks really damned good, wishlisted,” announced Solid_Guess_7154.
Not at the time of writing, other than a tentative 2026 launch window, but it’s always a possibility that its release could wander into 2027. Furthermore, as of right now, it’s only confirmed to arrive on PC via Steam.
The best way to be notified when Where Dolls Hang is ready to be released is to wishlist it on Steam and follow its developer on social media. Whether the game plays as well as it looks, only time will tell.
