A new Resident Evil spiritual successor has just debuted on Steam, with a free demo available for anyone wanting to play.
We’ve previously reported on Industria 2, the Resident Evil and BioShock hybrid about parallel dimensions, ever-hungry artificial intelligence and grotesque creatures.
The free demo has been available since October 2025, but has been steadily updated over the months with new content and bug fixes to give you a closer idea of what to expect from the full release.
“Years after the events of the prequel Industria, Nora is stuck in a parallel dimension, far away from home. Trapped between machine-built walls, she survives alone in an abandoned chapel near the coast,” reads the blurb on Industria 2.

“Just before she can evade the hostile parallel dimension and return home to 1989 East-Berlin, a chain of unforeseen consequences pull her back into the pulsating heart of the artificial intelligence ATLAS.
“Nora soon comes to the realization that she cannot evade her past and must face the haunting responsibility that lies within it – her involvement in the creation of the uncontrollable A.I.”
The game plays a little like a traditional first-person shooter, where you explore a series of interconnected linear levels with a mix of combat, exploration, and puzzle solving. The vibe can be compared to the likes of Half-Life 2 and BioShock.
Altogether, the experience will last you for “around 4–6 hours” according to developer Bleakmill, and that the content is “filler free”.

If you’ve been interested in the game for quite some time since its initial reveal, Industria 2 is now out and costs £18.99, with a 10% launch discount setting it down to £17.09.
However, it may also be wise to wait a little while for some patches, as a handful of players are reporting fundamental design issues and major bugs occurring during their playthroughs.
The Steam page for Industria 2 contains a positive rating score of 57%, indicating a Mixed review score.
“If you decide to give this game a try, I recommend keeping in mind the idea that the game got pushed out 6 months too early. It's good, but this is more like a beta than it is a full release,” reads one negative review by Steam user Ziggylata.
“I desperately wanted to love this game but it is very clear unfinished and needs alot more love from the devs. Which I'm sure is not on them and on the publisher,” reads another review by user Casket.
“Bleakmill I will literally be a free tester for you just so you can avoid issues like this, I'll sell my soul to you and sign any paper. You guys are so cool, but this launch could've been so much smoother,” a third review by user Mr. Business reads.
Still, if you want to check it out, you can grab Industria 2 now from Steam.
