All PlayStation Plus subscribers can now access this month’s offerings and on the whole, it’s a decent line-up for all tiers, but fans are particularly impressed with one game included in the extra tier catalogue additions. They’ve branded it to be “one of the best PS5 games.” High praise.
In case you missed it, January’s essential tier games are Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Fallout 76, and Axiom Verge 2. Jedi: Fallen Order is the clear winner here seeing as its sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, is set to launch in March. There’s no better time to try the series out if you’re yet to dive in. For the first time in forever, premium tier subscribers are finally gaining access to some extra PS1 era titles too. It’s an extra tier game though that’s really proved to be a hit.
Speaking of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, check out some gameplay below.
Reddit user psplusfan11 took to the site to share just how impressed they’ve been by Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition. They wrote, “DMC5 Special edition is by far one of the best PS5 games added to extra. If you guys [have] been wanting to try the game out, now's your chance [...] The game looks amazing on PS5! First time playing it without seeing gameplay and it looks fantastic.”

“Highly recommend trying it out,” the user added. “The combat gets more fun as you continue the story early in the game and I am loving the ability system.” Several others joined in, heaping praise on the game. Hypespud added, “It is one of the best character action games ever, yes! Play it,” while Munkey149 added, “Yeah, started it last night and I’ve been very pleasantly surprised.”
When the game was released, it landed a very respectable score of 89 over on Metacritic. PlaySense wrote, “The ultimate version of an already fantastic game, the special edition of Devil May Cry 5 looks great, sounds great and - you guessed it - plays pretty damn great as well,” while DarkStation called it “one of the most gratifying, fun, and deep action games ever created.” Surely you don’t need any more convincing?
