It’s a battle between two incredible RPGs, Starfield and Baldur’s Gate 3, though it looks like Bethesda’s new IP will come out on top.

Starfield’s release is just nearly here about a week away, days if you bought the Constellation Edition of the game for early access. Despite having some friendly competition from another major RPG release, Baldur’s Gate 3, it’s managed to squeak its way to the top of Steam’s Top Sellers page.

There’s still time to get early access for Starfield, check out the Constellation Editon of the game below

It’s hardly a surprise, Starfield is the biggest game Bethesda has ever built, boasting an enormous explorable galaxy, complete freedom of expression through character creation and starship building, and reportedly a ridiculous amount of quests and side content.

That’s just the base game though, Bethesda titles are synonymous with mods, and Todd Howard has promised Starfield will be a “modder’s paradise.” Fans are expecting to be completely blown away by what’s created, and it doesn’t sound like they’ll be disappointed, as it’s believed modders will be able to create entirely new planets for other players to explore.

As the hype train continues to chug along to the game’s release date, it’s no wonder it’s already topping charts with its popularity, spurred on by the overwhelmingly positive first-impressions from critics.

Safe to say the Starfield community is thrilled, as user Realistic_Access shared the news with the official subreddit yesterday, prompting excitement from fans, though many also praised the well-deserved success of Baldur’s Gate 3.

“Honestly, it's just so wonderful that we've got games like Starfield and BG3 coming out. My only real problem is not enough time to spend playing both… Truly a surfeit of gaming riches!”

“Just finished BG3 and am floored how good it was. Can't wait for Friday. 2023 may be the biggest year in history for gaming.”

“The fact that Armoured Core got into Top 4 less than a week is quite the achievement, & the fact that CS:GO is in Top 3 despite being over 11 years old is incredible. But yeah, great that Starfield hit top 1 & it's not even out yet.”

Starfield launches on Xbox and PC platforms on the 6th of September and enters early access on the 1st of September for fans who bought the Constellation Edition.
