Red Dead Redemption 2’s perfect protagonist Arthur Morgan is back as your new US history teacher.

In terms of protagonists it doesn’t really get better than Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2, which is why it’s criminal we probably won’t see him again in Red Dead Redemption 3 as even Roger Clark considers his story to be over.

If you somehow haven’t already, check out Red Dead Redemption 2 below

Worry not though, as while Arthur Morgan won’t be reappearing in any Rockstar Games projects in the foreseeable future, he will be returning as your US history teacher.

Roger Clark has lent his voice to the upcoming book Red Dead's History: A Video Game, an Obsession, and America's Violent Past, and will read the entire thing to you as Arthur Morgan himself.

The book will tackle real American history, and explore how it shaped various works of fiction including Rockstar’s own Red Dead Redemption series.

At its core though the book is supposed to show off just how violent the Wild West could truly be, as well as commend Rockstar for the way it brought the section of US history to life in such a detailed and memorable way.

Gamerant managed to secure an exclusive snippet of the book including it’s opening chapter, which includes six minutes of Roger Clark’s narration.

It sounds fantastic, and there’s no one else we’d rather have take us on this historical journey than our favourite outlaw.

Red Dead's History: A Video Game, an Obsession, and America's Violent Past is available for preorder right now, and will be released on 6 August worldwide.

You’ll be able to buy a hardcover edition or the audiobook version depending on your preference, though we’ll definitely be going for the one with the Red Dead Redemption character in it.
