The price of GTA VI was never going to be a fun topic to discuss, but few expected it to divide fans quite like this.

It’s been a bumpy road to get to this point in GTA VI’s story, and it’s still not over yet.

However, thanks to GTA VI Online gameplay leaks, the future looks bright for the title as we prepare to play the title for years to come.

That said, the next instalment is putting the pressure on Rockstar Games to outperform itself.

Here's the one and only GTA VI trailer for you to overanalyse

One way it could fall down at the last hurdle is the cost of the game.

Previously, Take-Two Interactive’s CEO Strauss Zelnick has discussed pricing games on their “per-hour value”.

Naturally, if AAA games were to do this, the cost would be eye-wateringly high, and they’re not exactly cheap now.

This is where the divide amongst GTA fans began in earnest.

User Life_Marionberry_157 believes it a “rumour”, one that’s never going to happen.

Yet, while others feel it’s an unlikely move from the parent company, they dislike the idea that such a price model should ever exist.

“We think the concept being discussed by Zelnick is super deplorable and we talk about how f**king overtly greedy Take-Two has become since 2013,” argued JustAnotherCarmine.

Moreover, while it won’t be a value per hour price (we hope), fans believe Rockstar will “push its luck” to squeeze extra money out of its fans.

“I think they're going to push it and go 80 bucks. 70 is the new industry standard and Rockstar knows that GTA is the biggest IP in gaming and probably worth an extra 10 bucks,” commented Rkramden.

Someone else chimed in, “I feel a $89.99 price tag coming for regular GTA VI and $99.99 Special Edition version. Anyone else with me?”

There’s even mention of how video game piracy “becomes more morally correct” when talks of steep price increases begin.

We’ll leave that one for you to debate.

The main takeaway here is that fans are concerned about the GTA VI price and what such an increase would mean for the future.
