30,000 'Freaky' Resident Evil Requiem Fans Goon Over NSFW Character Sounds

Why is she making those sounds?

Freaky Resident Evil Requiem fans goon over Grace’s NSFW groans, and to be fair, I can see why.

So far, Resident Evil Requiem is hands-down my Game of the Year, earning my very first 10/10 on GAMINGbible. Its gameplay was tense and high-octane, it has stunning visuals, a gripping story, loads of replay value and awesome sound design all around. What’s not to love?

When it comes to sound design in particular, the soundtrack does a fantastic job of making you feel scared, safe and emotional. For that, I tip my hat to the composers of Resident Evil Requiem, Nao Sato, Masahiro Ohki, Shigeyuki Kameda and Joseph Holiday.

We Spoke to Resident Evil Requiem’s Leon and Grace!

Likewise, the two leading actors (who I was fortunate to chat with recently), Leon S. Kennedy, played by the charming Nick Apostolides and Grace Ashcroft, played by the delightful Angela Sant'Albano, do an amazing job in bringing their respective characters to life, both in terms of voice and motion capture.

However, amazing performance aside, there’s another reason why Angela’s voice has garnered the attention of the Resident Evil community, and I doubt very much it's for the reason she intended. Before I proceed, let me apologise in advance, Angela. I am sorry for what I am about to leave. But let’s crack on and get it over with.

Why Is Grace Making Sounds Like That?

I’ll cut to the chase, it sounds like Grace is making sex noises, and gamers have noticed. To be fair, when I was playing Resident Evil Requiem the other day in my living room, I noticed this too, and I kept glancing awkwardly over to my wife, wondering if she noticed the awkward sounds while reading her book.

“Whoever at Capcom thought that Grace moaning constantly when her health is low was a good idea is freaky as hell,” tweeted NikTek with a clip of her moaning in question. “I can't even play this game on speakers if I don't have a recovery item.”

At the time of writing, this tweet has over 3,7 million views, 1,200 comments, 3,500 retweets, 59,000 likes, and over 30,000 freaky gooners have bookmarked it.

“Why are people bookmarking this man hahahaha,” joked Nova2cotton in response.

“I know why.. but I ain’t sayin,” added NadNapz.

“Men of culture,” replied Snakepitsam. However, to be fair, I bet there are a lot of genders who have bookmarked this tweet, for reasons.

Resident Evil Requiem is out now on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.
