We’re all incredibly hyped for Grand Theft Auto VI, and that’s despite the game’s delay.
GTA VI is now due to arrive on 26 May 2026 and yes, the announcement of a delay did dampen many a spirit, but Rockstar Games soon distracted us with that incredible second trailer.
A trailer so impressive, I should add, that we all mistook gameplay for cinematics.

Yes, the trailer comprises 50% gameplay and 50% in-game cutscenes; you know Rockstar is cooking because I can hardly differentiate between the two.
The only real concern left surrounding GTA VI relates to its pricing.
You’ll likely recall analysts previously set the internet ablaze by teasing that it wouldn’t be totally unexpected to see GTA VI charge $100.
That rapidly divided fans into two camps.

Some said they’d pay it for GTA VI, but GTA VI only, while others said it’s pricing gamers out of gaming.
I can understand both sides but for those who are happy to pay $100 for this specific release, remember that if GTA VI charges $100, many other titles will follow suit whether you think they’re deserving of that price tag or not.
You can view that second trailer below.
A $100 price tag now feels doubly likely following price rises across the industry.

Nintendo previously confirmed that its top first-party Switch 2 games will now set buyers back $80, with Microsoft recently also confirming that Xbox game prices will rise to $80 later this year.
Is it a stretch to imagine GTA VI charging $90 or $100?
Well, nothing has yet been confirmed but a comment by Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford has sent alarm bells ringing.
“I'll tell you the truth, I don't know. That is the truth,” he said of Borderlands 4’s pricing at PAX East, as reported by GameSpot.

Why is this significant? Well, if pricing isn’t up to Randy or Gearbox, it may be decided upon by parent company Take-Two Interactive, the same parent company of Rockstar Games.
Will the rather corporate Take-Two care about the happiness of the everyday gamer as much as the devs themselves?
I’d lean towards saying no which would arguably result in higher pricing.
That being said, Mafia: The Old Country is launching this summer - also under the Take-Two umbrella - and it’ll do so at a reasonable cost of $49.99 / £44.99, so don’t lose all hope.

Fans simply don’t know what to expect.
“Every pub/dev wants to charge $100 but no one wants to be the first to do it,” wrote Reddit user PeanutButterOtter.
“Plan for $79.99, excitement when it's not,” Mystikalrush added.
For now, we’ll have to remain patient and watch this space.
