Recent leaks suggest Grand Theft Auto VI will be borrowing a key Red Dead Redemption 2 feature for one of its characters.

The leaks for Grand Theft Auto VI just keep on coming, and until an official reveal by Rockstar Games, which fans believe to be imminent, they’re going to continue being the main topic of discussion amongst the Grand Theft Auto community.

So far, we’ve seen what’s believed to be the map of the game’s enormous open world, a peak at some of the building interiors, and gameplay confirming the game does take place in Vice City.

Now though, it’s believed the new game will borrow an ability from Red Dead Redemption 2, the Eagle Vision.

If you haven’t played Red Dead Redemption 2, first of all, how dare you, second of all, Eagle Eye is an ability that lets the protagonist track enemies, and animals and identifies things to interact with in the world. Think of it like Rockstar’s version of the Eagle Vision from Assassin’s Creed.

New leaks suggest this will be an ability for Jason, one of the two protagonists taking centre stage in the game, with the other being Lucia.

This isn’t unlike the abilities Franklin, Trevor and Michael had in Grand Theft Auto V, who all had a unique power to use during missions and exploring the map. Franklin could slow down time while driving any land vehicle, Trevor could see red and deal more damage, as well as take less damage himself, and Michael could enter a bullet-time state, slowing down time in shootouts.

Worth noting Eagle Eye isn’t confirmed to be in the game as of yet so take it with a pinch of salt, though it wouldn’t be a reach if it was. Considering the GTA V and Red Dead Redemption protagonists all had abilities, it’d only make sense for the new game to follow suit.

There’s currently no concrete release date for Grand Theft Auto VI, though it’s expected to launch sometime in 2025 for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
