Red Dead Redemption 2: Life Of Crime Will Keep You Busy Till GTA 6

Red Dead Redemption 2 fans can now enjoy a new expansion that should hold you over until the release of GTA 6.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has been one of the biggest games of all time, and that’s partly down to the fact that there’s such a massive world with so much to do in it.

However, even for something as big and as polished as something published by Rockstar Games, there will always be players who feel it could go one step further.

Red Dead modder CruelMasterMC felt this way, which is why they released the Life of Crime mod back in 2022, and it might be the best thing to check out while you wait for GTA 6.

It’s a total conversion for Red Dead Redemption 2 that allows you to play the singleplayer mode as your own custom character, and essentially roleplay your Wild West life without the multiplayer strings attached.

The mod massively expands the potential of RDR2 singleplayer here, with skill trees, train heists, and a ranking system included alongside all the different customisation options.

Although there are some story elements to it, it's best seen as something for roleplayers to enjoy. You're not getting anything on the same level of quality as Rockstar made, but you may get a deep RP experience similar to online.

It seems as though the mod is best used for players who have finished all the base game content with Arthur and John, as this is best seen as a completely new experience separate from the main story.

Altogether, it looks like the best middle ground if you enjoy the roleplaying potential of Red Dead Online, but hate actually playing with other players. As someone who put in around 150 hours to Red Dead Online alone, I can relate to that.

Be sure to download Red Dead Redemption 2: Life of Crime from Nexus Mods. Although the mod hasn’t been updated in three years, it should still be compatible with your installation.
