This may be quite a controversial way to start a story, but I have officially decided that gamers do not deserve Grand Theft Auto VI, despite it being perhaps the most anticipated video game release of all time.
Why, you may ask? Just hear me out.
Since it was first announced back in February of 2022, Grand Theft Auto VI, and Rockstar itself, has been the subject of breaches in all its various forms.
In September 2022, the upcoming Grand Theft Auto entry was the subject of a hacker who released 90 videos of early development to GTAForums, consisting of over 50 minutes of work-in-progress footage.

In October 2024, there were reports of people camping outside Rockstar offices and even taking photographs through its windows.
That's not to mention various content creators over the years posting videos of themselves running up to developers and asking them about GTA VI’s release date and any future delays.
However, it seems as though, despite legal action being taken in some of these situations, gamers have not learned their lesson. A recent report shows just how desperate some of them are.

Fans Are Taking It Too Far Once Again
Earlier this week, gamers took it too far by deliberately harassing members of the Rockstar team in order to get a glimpse of GTA VI footage.
According to reports, fans have reportedly been forging fake IDs in order to enter Rockstar buildings, and have even started flying drones in order to see through the windows once again.

The Polish site PPE and GTA insider KiwiTalkz claim, “Unfortunately, there are a number of crazy Rockstar fans that would 100% break into retail stores and manufacturing facilities to steal discs, and people on the inside would leak it as well.”
“I have heard stories from Rockstar devs over the years of nutty fans trying to get into their buildings to get any info they can from faking IDs to flying drones above windows to try to get images/video.”
It is safe to assume that anybody caught committing these actions would be arrested, making their wait for GTA VI even longer.
In my opinion, these aforementioned privacy breaches just make me believe many of us do not deserve Grand Theft Auto VI.
What happened to simply waiting for a game to release and being excited when the developers itself choose to share information on it?
Of course, delays are frustrating and I am aware that the last Grand Theft Auto entry was well over a decade ago but come on, let’s have some decorum and patience.
Nevertheless, Grand Theft Auto VI is set to launch on 19 November 2026.
For now.
