This week, Rockstar Games has been dealing with a major wave of GTA VI gameplay leaks, with a persistent hacker reportedly releasing footage and details ahead of the game's launch.
The leaks have created another headache for Rockstar as it works to prevent further GTA VI gameplay footage from spreading online. The alleged motive behind the leaks is reportedly linked to GTA VI being a digital-only release.

Details from the latest GTA VI gameplay leaks have been compiled by Reddit user ZamnBoii, highlighting several major improvements over GTA V. If accurate, these leaked details could give fans plenty to get excited about ahead of the highly anticipated launch. With that in mind, let's take a closer look at nine of the biggest highlights from the recent GTA VI leaks.
Nine more exciting new details from the GTA VI gameplay leaks

Clone key and smash window options confirmed
Breaking into cars has gotten more sophisticated in GTA VI. Not only can you throw NPCs out of a car or smash the window of a vacant vehicle, but it now seems like we can clone keys, which should reduce the chances of being notified to the police.
Jason and Lucia will lose stamina when tasered
Players could use tasers in GTA V; however, when Jason and Lucia get tasered in GTA VI, rather than just falling to the floor, debilitated for a second or two, their stamina bar will deplete. This should make a follow-up attack or escape a little more challenging for the player.
Enemies can be tagged
This is a feature that we often see in first-person and third-person shooters, especially for online multiplayer. Tagging enemies such as cops should make it much easier to know who to take down when larger gatherings are attacking you and panicking NPCs keep getting in your way.
Jason and Lucia can pick accessories off the ground and use them
In one moment of the gameplay footage, it shows Jason using a taser, and then he’s seen picking up a cap off the ground and putting it on his head. This is totally new to the series.
GTA VI has RDR2’s slow-motion kills
In some of the gameplay, when killing an NPC, it went into slow motion. This is a feature used in Red Dead Redemption 2, and it gives action scenes a little cinematic touch.

Jason and Lucia can surrender to cops
In previous GTA games, surrendering to police was an automatic feature when caught. However, it looks like players can now voluntarily surrender to the police, a feature also taken from Red Dead Redemption 2. It’s also something that has featured in the Mafia series, where players can offer a bribe to avoid going to jail.
NPCs will run away when outnumbered
When NPCs get outnumbered, they will retreat. NPCs running away in panic is nothing new in the series, but this improvement in GTA VI feels more dynamic and makes their behaviours appear more natural.
Enhanced car reflections and ray tracing
Cars will now have real-time reflections with the environment and even clothing, and ray-traced lighting at night time has been vastly improved. These features were introduced with newer ports of GTA V, but now it seems it will be available from the get-go in GTA VI. We would assume that these features will be further enhanced on the PS5 Pro.
Radio music proves the leaks are from a recent build
While this is not a gameplay feature in the traditional sense, in one of the leaked cutscenes, the song “Sports Car” by Tate McRae is being played. This song was released in January 2025, which pretty much confirms that the gameplay leaks are taken from a build that is roughly 18 months old, and not from 2023, which some have claimed.
Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
