GTA 6: A 'tiny portion' of the massive open-world map has appeared online

A "tiny portion" of what appears to be the open world map for GTA VI map managed to find its way online, and fans are blown away by the leaked scale of the game.

It's no secret that GTA VI is shaping up to be a massive game, of course. Previous gameplay leaks have given us a glimpse at the true scale of the project's open world, and it sounds like it's going to be absolutely filled with things to see and do. But this leaked map gives us the best idea of the game's scope and ambition yet.

Here's everything we know about GTA VI so far!

The leaked map was originally shared on Reddit, and appears to have been taken from last year's gameplay leaks. The original post has since been removed by Reddit's legal team, which tends to be a sure sign that it was legit.

In the now-deleted images we were able to see an unknown character stood in what looked to be a factory yard of some kind, followed by a section of the game's map. Naturally, it didn't take long for fans to plunder these images for secrets.

According to Reddit users the map appeared to show some kind area based on the Sebring Raceway alongside factories, housing, roads, and countryside. In other words, if this was just a "tiny portion" then the full thing must be a beast.

“Holy sh*t this map is gonna me huge,” one fan commented.

Another GTA player added: “It's already 1.5 times bigger and the map doesn't end here, I think it's gonna be even bigger than 1.5 times, hell we don't have the idea how far north the map extends.”

A third Reddit commenter suggested the map is to the left, and there's a huge section we can't see: “And the fact that the new map is very left oriented suggests to me that either they didn't make it centred, or there's another land mass somewhere approximately south west in the direction of the Bahamas. The entire bottom right square is just water which is very strange for any Rockstar map."

While this particular portion of map seems to have been scrubbed for the internet, the excitement fans felt at seeing is has not gone away. Last we heard GTA VI is aiming to launch by March 2025 at the latest, so hopefully we hear more about the upcoming game soon.
