Fans are continued to be left in the dark as to when the next entry in the ever-popular GTA series will arrive, but is that about to change?

Grand Theft Auto VI was announced by Rockstar Games back in February 2022, but since that time, we’ve heard nothing about the highly anticipated sequel. At least officially, anyway.

Check out our GTA VI speculation round up video below!

Seven months after GTA VI was announced, those infamous leaks were making the internet rounds which looked to be from a very early build of the game. Those leaks in turn forced developer Rockstar Games to address them in an official statement.

However, that statement from Rockstar Games did not prevent the rumour mill from spinning and since that time, the GTA VI rumours and speculation are as routine as a Brit having a cup of tea in the morning. Some of those rumours claimed that GTA VI will have two playable protagonists named Jason and Lucia, reportedly inspired by real-life crime duo, Bonnie and Clyde.

It’s also been claimed that GTA VI will not only take us to a modern-day version of the Miami-inspired Vice City, but it will also take players to regions of South America including Brazil. What’s more, a recent financial earnings call from Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive suggested that GTA VI would release sometime between 2024 to 2025.

Well, to add further validation to those previous suggestions, Take-Two Interactive has now suggested the same release window once more, but this time that release window has been narrowed down.

In the most recent earnings call, Take-Two Interactive has now suggested that GTA VI could release between early 2024 and early 2025. I know that’s still some way off, but in the worst-case scenario, that’s better than late 2025.

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnic hinted in the earnings call for the 2025 fiscal year which lands between April 2024 to March 2025 that there would be a “significant inflection point ... which we believe will include new record levels of operating performance.” While GTA VI wasn't named specifically, it seems more than likely that the product that will deliver “new record levels of operating performance” would be the next Grand Theft Auto game.

Obviously, at this time, we should take the speculation with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. That being said, until Rockstar Games gives us something to chew on, the GTA VI rumour mill will continue to spin.

Finally, it is believed that Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series XS.
