Unless you’ve been living under a rock, the chances are that if you love video games, then you will know that GTA VI is on the way and excitement for the title is already reaching new levels of hype.

The arrival of the next entry in Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto series is also one of the worst-kept secrets in the video game industry with rumours and leaks plaguing the internet for years before the first official GTA VI trailer was revealed to the world in December 2023.

Check out the GTA VI trailer below!

When Rockstar Games revealed the record-breaking GTA VI trailer, we had a very vague 2025 launch window. However, recently, Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games stated that GTA VI will be released towards the end of 2025.

Sure, the late 2025 launch window is still very vague but at least it’s been narrowed down somewhat. That being said, release date delays are always likely especially when it's video games related to Rockstar Games which are often set to achieve near perfection with each major new release.

With that in mind, as reported by GameSpot during a recent earnings call, when asked whether GTA VI would benefit from releasing late 2025, a period in which many other video games will be released, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick said: “While it probably doesn't matter, I think we'd all rather be in the release window that we're looking at now.”

“I think we feel as though the market's anticipation is at a fever pitch,” he continued. “And of course, expectations are very high everywhere in this boardroom and all around the world for the perfection of what Rockstar typically delivers.”

So in other words and reading between the lines, Zelnick believes it doesn't matter what time of the year GTA VI is released, it’s going to blow its competition out of the water and break video game sales regardless. Despite the apparent lack of urgency from the CEO, he’s probably not wrong.

Grand Theft Auto VI will be released in 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. At the time of writing, a PC release hasn't been announced, yet.
