Well, this isn’t what we expected. Rockstar Games was due to drop the first trailer for GTA VI tomorrow, on 5 December to be exact at 2pm GMT / 9am ET, yet here I am on 4 December telling you that the GTA VI trailer is in fact available to watch now. Yes, really.

Here I was just about to fall asleep, thinking about what lay ahead tomorrow: the coveted first trailer for GTA VI. We should know by now though, leaks are rife in the games industry. Someone seemingly leaked the trailer online over 14 hours ahead of schedule so Rockstar Games has taken matters into its own hands, tweeting, “Our trailer has leaked so please watch the real thing on YouTube.” The time has come my friends, feast your eyes on the very first trailer below.

Take a look at GTA VI in all its glorious action.

Well, thanks to last year’s leak we suspected that Jason and Lucia would act as our dual protagonists and now we have confirmation. The trailer is seemingly entirely set in the present day. If you recall, rumours suggested we could visit the 1980s although we can’t rule out flashbacks at this stage although we’ve seen no evidence. Of course, the trailer is also quite clearly set in Vice City - another fact previously gleaned from leaks.

The title of the game has finally been confirmed to be GTA VI after fans wondered whether Rockstar would drop the numbering, but I know the information you’re all after, the release window. Unfortunately, it’s what many of us feared. We’re going to have to wait until 2025 for GTA VI to release but oh my goodness, how incredible do those graphics look?

If this is just a mere taste of what’s to come, we’re in for an epic treat that I’m sure is worth waiting for.
