The hype around Grand Theft Auto 6 is about as big as it has ever been and fans are looking to every corner for news and progress on how development of the game is going, less than a year from its already delayed release date.
With just two trailers and a handful of information about what the game is going to be about, new breakthroughs are fairly thin on the ground. This has now meant that many are looking outside of the direct development team for a few crumbs on exactly how things are going.
Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick recently appeared on CNBC to talk about the company he runs and the projects they are currently working on. Aside from detailing how profitable NBA 2K has been as well as the successes of the new Mafia game, he did also offer some insight into GTA 6.
"Rockstar's whole stock and trade is to have these extraordinary expectations and still beat them. I know that's their goal. I know it's going to be an amazing game. The rest we will see in the fullness of time," Zelnick said.

Responses to his analysis of the situation were not particularly positive on Reddit, with one saying, "He is only interested in money and that’s his job managing it for the company. Stop trying to emotionally bond him with the game lol."
Another added, "He has no interest in games. He would be equally enthusiastic about brainless F2P mobile game, generating him that money."
While his lack of focus on the creative output over the business side of things is understandably a concern for some, Zelnick has been in his position since 2007, and we all know the incredible job the development team at Rockstar has done on their GTA games in the intervening period. Fingers crossed their impressive record remains reasonably spotless.
