The Elder Scrolls 6 Just Got an Exciting Update

One small step for man, one giant leap for TES VI

The Elder Scrolls VI just received a rather exciting update on the development side of things– although, some people are (unjustifiably) upset at the news.

It’s been over seven years since Bethesda showed off that now infamous The Elder Scrolls VI teaser trailer at the 2018 Electronic Entertainment Expo, and yet we’re still receiving staffing updates for the game this late into its development.

However, the most recent update is genuinely intriguing… but, unfortunately, a lot of fans are taking it the wrong way.

As spotted by one user over on the r/TESVI subreddit, BioWare veteran John Dombrow just updated his LinkedIn page to reveal that he is now working as a Senior Quest Designer on The Elder Scrolls VI.

Dombrow’s credits are legitimately impressive, having worked on games such as BioShock Infinite, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3. However, fans seem to only be zeroing in on his latest credits, which include the likes of Dragon Age: The Veilguard and Anthem.

This has, of course, led some people to believe that Dombrow isn’t quite as talented as he actually is. Clearly those fans aren’t aware of the fact that BioWare’s more recent failures were more to do with EA than the developer itself.

Thankfully, a few people in the comments seem to have the right idea.

“Everyone can have bad ideas, and I actually enjoyed the companions in Mass Effect Andromeda. It was just the protagonist and the alien races that fell flat for me”, commented user Xilvereight.

“Fact of the matter is, this is someone with a lot of experience, and I don't think he can make Bethesda's writing any weaker than it's been for a long time.”

“I’m guessing 90% of the people reading this didn’t play veilguard (which is fair because it’s mid asf). But Davrins story, the lighthouse and the siege of weisshaupt are all fantastic”, replied user Grogman2024.

Also, for those of you that may think that this is a bit late in the game for Bethesda to be employing a Senior Quest Designer, I’m not entirely convinced that Dombrow actually just started work on The Elder Scrolls VI.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume that he only just got the go ahead to update his credits, because Bethesda have been very secretive about the game’s development.

I’m just saying that you shouldn’t take this as a sign that we won’t be getting The Elder Scrolls VI for another ten years or something.
