The Elder Scrolls 6 True Believers Marking Their Calendars for Impending Trailer

Could it finally be time?

If there is one place that gamers live, it is in denial as it is the only way to deal with the wait for some of our most anticipated game releases.

That is most certainly the case for those waiting for The Elder Scrolls VI, especially as it has been almost 15-years since its predecessor, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, was released.

Expected to be released in “2026 or later” according to insider leaks, The Elder Scrolls VI entered into pre-production in 2018 and came alongside a very brief trailer announcing the project.

However, since then, Bethesda has remained radio silent when it comes to progress on the highly-anticipated RPG which has left fans disheartened to say the least.

Nevertheless, there is still a spark of hope and that is definitely the case for one user over on r/TESVI.

According to them and their calculations, August will be a significant month for The Elder Scrolls VI as the 31st marks the two-year anniversary of Bethesda announcing that the game had entered its active development stage.

“In two weeks, TES6 will have been in production for two whole years,” they explained.

“This is significant because 2026 is right around the corner, and this is known to be the earliest release year possible according to the leaked documents we got from the acquisition.”

They believe that this means that TES VI will be a “functional product” as of 2026 and will be released as a “polished game” in either 2027 or 2028.

So, at this stage in time, we are in what we can call the age of information,” they continued.

“Over the coming months and years, we can expect both official and unofficial (leaks) information to drop marking the last stretch of waiting.

Be patient and be ready!”

Of course, this is mere speculation (and outright hope) but who knows? Maybe August will be a lucky month for Bethesda.

However, other fans are not feeling as hopeful.

“2026 is a massive stretch,” one comment read.

“Even December 2026 is still unlikely. 3 year dev cycle for an open world RPG of the scope of Bethesda games? Yea right.”

Another agreed, adding, “2026 is out of the picture.

Most likely it'll be released in 2027 as a launch title for the new Xbox platform.”

It remains to be seen when The Elder Scrolls VI will be released but if there is one thing that gamers know how to do, it is wait.
