The Elder Scrolls fans have slammed a new Bethesda leak, as news about the sixth installment of the popular series dries up.
Last week, a new report suggested that Bethesda’s plans for Starfield’s next big expansion and update was delayed to 2026. It was also claimed this would coincide with the PS5 release.
With Bethesda also working on The Elder Scrolls 6, however, the leak may imply that we might not see it in 2026 as the company focuses on Starfield content for the year.

Of course, impatient Elder Scrolls fans might be a little upset to hear this, as they were hoping to see something relating to the sixth game next year.
But with news that the expansion is potentially delayed, it sparks rumours that the same could also be happening with The Elder Scrolls 6.
“Either they have assigned a skeleton crew to Starfield and are full force on TES6 or they have become extremely inefficient due to their size,” writes one fan on the Elder Scrolls 6 Reddit page.
“I don’t think this is necessarily an indication for TES VI not coming in 2026,” another comment added. “It could signal that the game may be delayed, but it could also not be the case. For all we know, a major reason for why Expansion 2 is likely getting delayed is because the team is primarily focused on TESVI.”

“There was never going to be a TES VI in 2026. People who insist on it coming out next year are frankly delusional,” a third person added.
With it now being seven years since that first initial E3 teaser, The Elder Scrolls are clearly starving for a crumb of information.
Hopefully we’ll get something sooner rather than later, because it’s been far too long since we last had a new Elder Scrolls game to play.

As for Starfield, it's no secret that the game was met with a rather mixed reception. Some players loved it, but others felt it lacked a certain Bethesda charm that was pretty evident in the Fallout and Elder Scrolls games.
