The hype around GTA 6 is about as big as it gets, with millions of eager players waiting for more news and details about what exactly they can expect when the game launches next year.
The first trailer for the game dropped all the way back in December 2023, accruing more than a quarter of a billion views in the intervening period, smashing a ton of YouTube records in the process.
After things went quiet for a while, a more detailed second trailer suddenly appeared in May 2025, offering a much closer look at the game's main characters, including crime loving protagonist couple Jason and Lucia.
With that video now in the rear view mirror, thoughts are turning to what comes next for the game that is currently scheduled for a full release in May 2026. Fortunately, the community is feeling positive about their chances of getting a further look at the game before 2025 draws to a close.

A user on the GTA subreddit shared their potential timeline for what they would like to see, "I’m thinking rockstar is probably gonna start preorders around the holidays, so maybe they’ll drop the 3rd trailer around late October/early November to build some hype. I’m hoping we get 1 more cinematic trailer, then a couple gameplay trailers around late February, and finally a launch trailer a week or so before the game drops," they said.
"That sounds about accurate October and early November to build some hype and start the pre-ordering," another added.
Whatever GTA 6's exact approach to release turns out to be, there's no doubt it's set to be one of the most popular (and profitable) games in history. GTA V has generated more than $8.5 billion in revenue since launch in 2013, according to a Rockstar earnings report from earlier this year, and the developer will be hoping to outperform that already outlandish number by some margin.
