Grand Theft Auto V is about to become obsolete when it's replaced next month but before it goes, we need to highlight this heartbreaking, but cool, open-world secret.
We thought we knew of everything GTA V was hiding and yet weeks before Grand Theft Auto VI launches, weâre still learning something new.
Over on X, user NotForYouIN shared a video of the in-game cemetery and pointed out a mysterious dog.
They said: "Thereâs a dog in GTA V that follows the SAME routine every day at 10am ⊠The dog supposedly visits his ownerâs grave every morning after his ownerâs death. But hereâs the creepy part: if he notices you following him, heâll suddenly change direction instead of leading you to the grave!â

Somehow, we hadnât seen this before, but what a cool feature. Itâs believed to be a reference to Greyfriars Bobby, who was a terrier similar to the one found in-game who became famous in the United Kingdom for guarding his ownerâs grave.
The dog in GTA V looks to be doing the same thing. Visiting its owner after their death, but ensuring no strangers get close to the actual resting place.
Itâs both heartbreaking and adorable at the same time. What a good dog.
Why this GTA 5 secret has us hyped for GTA 6
Rockstar Games' developers have always been known as wizards when it comes to game development, but the expectations are higher than ever for GTA VI.
So much is riding on the next game and while itâll probably be perfect, the pressure is on nonetheless.
That being said, if Rockstar Games was capable of stuff like this in 2013 then one can only imagine the level of detail weâll get in the next Grand Theft Auto.
Weâve caught glimpses in the gameâs many trailers and, of course, Cyberleeksâ unsanctioned gameplay footage, but thereâs still so much we donât know.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is obviously a similarly stellar example, but in a different way. Due to the Red Dead sequelâs timeline, the open-world needed to be approached in a completely different way to Grand Theft Auto.
Youâre riding across long stretches of open-field and winding roads for ages at times, so you need some fun excursions peppered in to make the world feel alive and fun to explore.
Now Rockstar Games is taking what it learned from Red Dead Redemption 2 and will be applying it to something much, much larger.
Players are expecting the same levels of interactivity in Vice City and the rest of Leonida, so itâll be interesting to see Rockstar keeps players engaged in more densely populated areas.
Like we said before though, the developers at Rockstar Games are wizards and weâre confident the next game is going to be another banger, based on what weâve seen so far in those trailers.
