If you had any doubt over the launch date for GTA VI, then hopefully this latest update will put your fears to rest.
There was a real ‘will they, won’t they’ for quite some time, with Rockstar Games dodging the question of the launch window for GTA VI, leaving fans guessing for months.
Then there was the delay, pushing the game into 2026, after leaving many to think we’d see it this year.
Understandably, this has led many to wonder if GTA VI would slip again, but during the most recent earnings call for Take-Two, the pledge of 6 May 2026 is still solid.

The results of the earnings call are online for all to see, and it shows the upcoming release schedule for several games, many of which have a ‘TBD’ under release date.
Thankfully, GTA VI is not one of them, and still retains its 6 May 2026 launch date, confirming what we all knew and thought, and hoped.
It’s highly unlikely the game will take another step back, even though some of Rockstar Games’ previous titles have slipped more than once.
The hotly anticipated title is thought to become the biggest game of all time, and will likely sell millions of copies on day one, earning billions of dollars.

Taking players back to Vice City, in the fictional American state of Leonida, the action will follow Lucia and Jason as they navigate their love for each other alongside a desperate grab for power and money.
It has been many years since we last visited Vice City, based on parts of Florida, and GTA VI looks to really lean into what makes the state one of the wildest in the US.
Players around the world are desperate to get their hands on the new game, and will be reassured to know, it’ll be with us soon.
