Survive An Abandoned Toy Factory In This Nightmarish Horror Game

Toy Gory.

Hi, I'm Mark. I'm 32 and I believe there's a very distinct possibility that toys might actually be alive. Unfortunately, the older I get the more I think that toys probably aren't like Toy Story toys - all nice and cute and fluffy. No, I believe they're probably malevolent and hungry for human flesh, much like the toys in new horror game Poppy Playtime.

Don't let the cutesy name fool you - Poppy Playtime is a dark and chilling horror/puzzle adventure set in an abandoned toy factory, lousy with ghoulish playthings. Explore the factory, solve the puzzles, or get cannibalised by a giant, marauding Elmo-type dude called Huggy Wuggy. The choice is yours!

Don't just take my word for it though - check out the trailer for Poppy Playtime right here...

As a former employee of the Playtime Co. toy factory, you return years after your coworkers all mysteriously vanished into thin air. It's time to solve the mystery or die trying. Luckily, you're not just going in with your own two mitts and a will to survive.

The innovative GrabPack mechanic is a backpack with a pair of hands that can be used to - you guessed it - grab stuff and use them to solve the various puzzles. Moving heavy objects is an absolute breeze as is, apparently, conducting electricity to open doors and such. I'm not sure I like the sounds of this toy factory...

Released on Steam on October 12th, only the first chapter of the game is currently available, but with over 500 reviews and a 'very positive' rating, it's clear that Poppy Playtime has made quite the impression on its playerbase.

Poppy Playtime is currently priced at £3.99 on Steam for the first episode, and any future episodes will be priced at $4.99 (no UK pricing equivalent provided) though it's not stated how many episodes there might be or when fans can expect them.
