The Fallout franchise is going through an absolute renaissance right now, kick-started by the excellent adaptation on Prime Video, which introduced a whole new audience to the wonders of the post-apocalyptic wastes.
That show has taken us further in the timeline than ever before and reignited calls for the next game in the mainline single player series, particularly given that it has now been a full decade since the release of Fallout 4.
Unfortunately, it seems likely that it's still a long way away, particularly given that the priority for Bethesda is going to remain with The Elder Scrolls VI for the foreseeable future, as they endeavour to get that game out to expectant fans.
The next best thing for us Fallout enjoyers would be a remaster or remake of the beloved Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas, both of which are long overdue a bit of a polish, at the very least.

Now, an interesting Steam glitch has set the community alight, with many thinking that it points to a potential re-release of those two games arriving on the storefront before long.
Steam Glitch Demands Players Wait For Release Before Reviewing Fallout 3 and New Vegas

Over on Reddit, one user shared a post of an interesting anomaly on the Steam store, in which it's not possible to review the original versions of Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas right now.

Even more excitingly for us remake fanatics, the reason given was that the player, "Must wait until this product has been released before writing a review for it."
Given that both games came out more than 15 years ago, this is more than a little suspicious.
Personally, I imagine the remaster/remake versions would have their own pages on the Steam storefront, but that would be too easy, wouldn't it.
"It is weird that only those two games are having that issue, but it’s also weird that if there were to be remasters, that they would affect these steam pages at all," one cautiously excited response read.

"In the weeks leading up to the Oblivion remaster they changed that store page a fair bit, they removed trailers and altered screenshots etc.
Not saying this actually means anything yet but they did edit the old store page for Oblivion," another added.
That second comment in particular is very interesting, and could be a legitimate reason that this has happened, with pending edits to the OG store pages having unintended effects on people's ability to review them.
I'm not one to read too much into these things, but there's so much noise about the potential of both games that surely we get confirmation of at least one of them before long.
