It's been two long years since Elden Ring's last expansion, and players refuse to believe that FromSoftware is done with the wildly captivating fantasy realm it created.
Although the base game is entering its Bloodborne and Skyrim arc, being a legacy RPG that continues to surprise fans with secrets only now being uncovered, Elden Ring has a lot more to give.
Yet it has been two years since Shadow of the Erdtree was dropped as the ultimate 'send-off', described in our review as "a fitting conclusion to FromSoftware’s biggest, and most successful title to date."
Despite FromSoftware cooking up the online multiplayer spin-off Nightreign in May last year, and the clear 'ending' that the Shadow of the Erdtree brought, fans of the fantasy realm still want more from this award-winning title.

Now, activity on the developers' social media page has sent the community into a frenzy, with many people claiming that a new Elden Ring DLC could be on the way.
Elden Ring fans convinced of a second DLC after recent X posts
Hot on the back of Elden Ring's success, FromSoftware has been devoted to bringing players the 'next' Bloodborne, with The Duskbloods landing on Nintendo Switch 2 as the developers' ambitious spiritual successor.
Yet it's clear that there is still love for Elden Ring, as new posts on X (previously Twitter) showcased some new content that players are now convinced ties directly into a Godwyn DLC.
The inconspicuous post appeared to be harmless at first watch, but the 12-second video has now amassed over 6.5 million views, as those fans who have been waiting for years for more content have come to some interesting conclusions.
All the video shows is a quick pony ride through the Siofra River, as a lack of giant crab and Ancestral Follower enemies made for a 'quiet wonder'.
But it is a different type of post from what we usually see the developers release, and highlights new skins for Torrent that are quickly being construed as a hype-building device for a new expansion.

Spinning social media into a mass craze, players are fuelled on copium.
"FROMSOFT RELEASE GODWYN DLC AND MY LIFE IS YOURS," reads the top comment on the post.
A second said, "HUNT for the DEMIGODS > shows empty Siofra River > one way to get to Deeproot Depths is through the Siofra Aqueduct and transporter coffin > GODWYN DLC ?????"
"I am delusional please give me a second expansion," a third person said.
Yet there is more Elden Ring content on the way that wouldn't relate to a Godwyn DLC.
Others have theorised that this could be the first piece of marketing material for the live-action film, which wrapped up filming last week. It could also be tied to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Tarnished Edition, which comes this month.
Still, there's no ruling out that the theories are true...
In the meantime, though, fan-made mods are now producing mass DLC-sized expansions, such as The Convergence, which are essential playthroughs for all Elden Ring fans.
That can fill some void, although an official DLC would be best.
