Elden Ring: Nightreign has been quietly and consistently ticking along over the last six months or so, offering a new and evolving way to play whilst we wait for FromSoftware's next big release (it better be Bloodborne 2 or I'm kicking off).

Now, the game's next DLC has been revealed, and it's adding some classic bosses from other FromSoftware games, as well as new events, playable characters and other features aimed at improving play.

On the official X (formerly Twitter) page for the developer, they shared the following statement confirming The Forsaken Hollows DLC, as well as the release date.

"In our war against the Night, every battle left a scar. These wounds were given will. A foul life, born of cast-away souls. Steel your resolve, Nightfarers. This hunt must be seen to its end. The Forsaken Hollows launches on December 4, 2025."

So not too long to wait then, and when it does get here, there's one boss in particular that we're really looking forward to.

Knight Artorias Joins The Fray

After what must have been thousands of requests from fans, Knight Artorias is set to appear in Nightreign for the first time. Originally appearing as the titular character in the Artorias of the Abyss DLC for the original Dark Souls, the boss is one of the more memorable in FromSoftware's vast pantheon of terrifying foes, and he should be right at home in this much more modern release.

Joining him is the Dancing Lion from the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion and a field boss in the Gladius Nightlord that should both slot in nicely to the existing game.

Outside of that, we're also getting some new playable characters in the Scholar and the Undertaker. The former is all about wielding the arcane, who supposedly gaining advantages through what the developer is referring to as "battlefield observation". The Undertaker, as the name may suggest, is all about sending enemies to the afterlife, with a confirmation of strength and holy zeal.

The last major addition is the arrival of the titular Great Hollow, an enormous cavity in the depths of Limveld. It's supposedly filled with exotic ruins and temples, as well as the "remains of an ancient people", though what exactly that means for the game is currently unclear.

If you're looking to jump in and try it all out for yourself, you don't have too long to wait, with the DLC set to release on 4 December, just in time for Christmas festivities.
