Call Of Duty branded a 'joke' as Rubber Ducky operator launches

Rubber Ducky is the latest Call of Duty operator skin to land in-game, and it's quickly divided players.

Call of Duty left realism behind a long time ago. In recent years, we’ve seen a variety of unexpected faces land as operators in the franchise.

Snoop Dog, Judge Dredd, Billy from Saw, and Lionel Messi are arguably some of the weirder options we’ve had. More recently, Lara Croft and Nicki Minaj joined the line-up - and I can’t delve into Warzone’s wacky past without touching upon the Operation Monarch event which had players mining King Kong’s balls for XP boosts. Yes, that really did happen. There have also been a number of operator skins which are just strange for the sake of being strange. Think of the Sgt. Pspsps cat skin. Funny? Yes. Logical? Absolutely not. Well, a similarly nonsensical skin has now joined Warzone and Modern Warfare III: Rubber Ducky.

Take a look at Modern Warfare III in action below.

It’s the Bath Time skin that’s proved to be the talk of the town. From the neck down, it’s all quite normal. From the neck upwards though, that’s where it turns into silly time. This operator is donning an enormous rubber duck head. The full Rubber Duck bundle also includes Rubber Rampage (Pulemyot 762 Blueprint), The Ducky (DM56 Blueprint), What The Duck (Weapon Sticker), Duck This (Calling Card), Bath Time (Emblem), and Quackin’ Up (Weapon Charm).

The bundle is available on the in-game store now and has drawn quite a split reaction. While some players have branded it a joke, others are ready to have a quacking good time. “Gonna run around Resurgence lobbies later and only respond to proxy chat with a very masculine quack,” wrote one Twitter user. “Someone pls remake the duck song in COD,” added another.

“They want to be Fortnite so bad,” wrote a more critical player, while one tweet simply read, “I hate this game.” On the plus side, I can’t imagine anyone donning this skin is going to be too hard to spot.
